PARANORMAL SANTA

When thinking of the paranormal at this time of year, my mind always turns to Santa...Okay, there was the spirits of Christmas past, present, and future; but they were more of a distraction...I'm feeling much better now.

Let's look at some of the reasons why Santa is at the top of my list for most paranormal.

First, there's that spiffy red suit. Normally anything red signifies danger in the paranormal world, but Santa has managed to take this color and make it give us a warm fuzzy feeling inside. This is a great trick since if anyone else came down my chimney in the middle of the night breaking and entering in that outfit, I'd pretty much shoot first and ask questions later.

Then there's the cookies and milk phenomena...It never fails that cookies and milk left out by the Christmas tree will inevitably dissappear just like magic. Of course, that same thing can happen with a bunch of four year olds left unsupervised in a kitchen too, but I still feel this has to do with some sort of supernatural event.

The flying reindeer...This is just the height of supernatural activity. Some folks have reported hearing bells and sounds of hooves in connection with this phenomena as well. While the amount of people who have actually seen the reindeer have usually been hitting the eggnog pretty good previous to the event, I still believe that these sightings are legitimate.

The elves....This one speaks for itself. These tiny entities wizz around making toys for Santa to deliver, and were also the original source of the idea of "multi-tasking". How they are related to imps, fairies, leaprechauns, etc, is still a gray area; but I feel it's just a matter of time before one is caught by the CEO of some fortune 500 company.

There has been speculation by conpiracy theorists and ufologists that Santa may well be an extraterrestrial being. They believe this may explain his ability to move about the earth so quickly without ever being seen. They believe that Santa has the ability to cloak his ship as well as the ever mysterious "North Pole" residence that he is alleged to inhabit. While tracks on rooftops have been found and casts of plaster made from them suggesting that the craft has runners as landing gear, it is unclear as to the nature of the propulsion method of the craft itself. No reindeer hoofprints have ever been found, but there was a case in Texas where 'strange brown objects' were left behind at the scene. These are still being analyzed by students at Cal State Berkely.

Age....No one really knows how old Santa is, but it has become an accepted theory with most scientists that Santa is in fact immortal. This may support the alien theory, but without further evidence, this is still speculation.

So there you have it. Keep your eyes to the skies this Christmas, and perhaps you may be able to catch some pictures or video of what is probably the strangest of all the paranormal phenomena.
