Just 60 Seconds

How long does it take for someone to not react to judgment and choose empathy?

How long does it take for someone to extend a smile or gesture of kindness in a moment of tension?

How long does it take for someone to really appreciate the very moment and allow all their senses to be awakened?

Many of us may be able to do these things in a matter of a just a couple of seconds and for many others it might take a couple of minutes, hours and even days.  I know from personal experience that these moments can be challenging depending on the circumstances and yet we all can reflect on the time when we finally succeeded in the struggle or the challenge and how good it felt to finally get that lesson.

Maybe, if we could remember during those moments when someone might challenge us to be empathetic or kind…take just 60 seconds to think on what it might be like to be them or walk in their shoes.   Or maybe when a day seems quite overwhelming and it doesn’t even seem like it might be possible to embrace even a brief moment we could take 60 seconds to breathe…find your center and truly embrace all the beautiful things that ARE good in your life.

I don’t think doing this exercise is going to waste your life away by just taking a few minutes every now and then to get back to the true authentic self that we all are.  We all are great individuals that hold so much possibility and potential for true Divinity…we just need to give ourselves the space to actually make it happen.

60 seconds to break the chains that keep us for being the best that we can be.
