With moments like these in real life, why post jokes?

My previous blog was about how Richard had dropped his cell phone in the pool:

I figured that was worth me doing at least one klutzy thing without having to put up with being called a klutz.  Little did I know that the moment of truth would come so soon!

Today I had to pick the kids up because Richard was working late.  Usually I do drop offs and he does pick ups (there's a straight line there but I'll leave it alone).  It was 107 degrees when we went home so they all wanted to go swimming.  Who was I to argue?

So we're all in the pool and the kids start showing off how they learned how to dive.  Dearra can dive pretty well.  I don't know if there's a word for what the twins were doing!  So I told Dearra that it was at least 20 years since I dove into a pool and I didn't know how well I could still do it.  That's when I got the foolish idea to try it!

So I got out of the pool and walked over to the deep end, slowly and carefully assumed the position and dove in, making sure not to do anything resembling a belly flop!  Judging from the face plant that I did on the bottom of the pool, I probably should have angled it a bit more.

Dearra ran in and got me a paper towel to stop the bleeding and as soon as I dried off I applied Neosporin and a bandaid to the small divot that now exists in my nose.

Bandaids are supposed to be skin toned, right?  So you'll probably never guess the first thing that Richard noticed when he walked into the backyard!

After he heard the story he went into the house and changed.  When he came back out, the first thing he did was execute a perfect dive into the pool.  Smart aleck swim team lifeguard showoff!

But he didn't get to call me a klutz!
