Can't find a job? Your not alone!

Usually I don't write about my personal life, but I am getting fed up with trying to find a job and need to blow off some steam.

So a year ago I graduated with my AAS in Paraeducation. What is Paraeducation? It's basically a degree in assistant teaching. No Child Left Behind requires that schools have certified teaching assistance in the classroom. Some schools are still depending on those Paraeducators / Paraprofessionals who have passed a weekend course and a certification test, but by law they have to start transitioning to those with a college degree.

Anyway, I graduated with honors, was the President of my college's Education Society, and was teaching as a lead teacher in an after school program. I did everything I could to boost my resume and just about wore myself out doing it. But now, a year later, I am jobless and getting tired of being that way.

What we would really like to do, my husband and I, is move to the Dallas, TX area. At the moment we are in a very small farming community with no prospects (so small in fact, that they JUST put in high speed internet access). I started applying to schools and other educational companies many months ago and am up to 17 since I started counting.

Dallas, and the areas around it, are constantly reporting that they are having a teacher shortage and, though I am not a full certified teacher, I would think that they would be happy to hire someone who is fully dedicated and eagerly looking for work.

All we need is one little job, even a part time one, to get us started.

Anyway, sorry for the rant. But if you are having trouble finding a job just remember that you are not alone!
