My Personal Views on the Education of Children

Right now, at the moment, I feel that education in America should be our number one priority. It's too many students getting by in class just because they are the teacher's pets. Students should learn the basics information before moving on to advanced classes and if failing them is what it takes to make a student understand that school is no joke, then I say fail them.

Even in the world today, jobs will require you to have at least an high school diploma. Why you ask? Because how can you learn to fix a burger, but cannot read the ingredients from off a box of cake? Plain and simple. I am going to quote a reading that I found in Wikipedia about education and the importance of it.

"The education of an individual human begins at birth and continues throughout life. (Some believe that education begins even before birth, as evidenced by some parents' playing music or reading to the baby in the womb in the hope it will influence the child's development.) For some, the struggles and triumphs of daily life provide far more instruction than does formal schooling (thus Mark Twain's admonition to "never let school interfere with your education"). Family members may have a profound educational effect — often more profound than they realize — though family teaching may function very informally."

This reading is so true. Education begins at birth. Parents, we need to step up in teaching our children the basic fundamental skills that is necessary for life. I'm tired of hearing teachers and principals telling kids that they have no home-training. It is true. Education begins at home. Teach your children the right way or they will learn the hard way.

A highly thought provoking and well thought-out piece. I agree that educating our children in the basics is of primary importance.
