I've never played WOW. The closest thing I have played
to that would be Guild wars but I got tired of the go do this
quest to advance thing..
What I do play is Aces High II
and have played for over 5 years now. A WW2 combat flight sim that has
the best flight modle I've ever come across. All Enemy planes and
vehicles are other players so it's extreamly skill based as far as the
combat go's. There is no kill something/someone and get EXP points,
it's simply practice makes perfect. In other words you die alot till
you get the hang of flying and dog fighting :) Posted a blog on it if

The other online
game I play is EVE Online for about a year now. It's a space
based game that is extreamly open ended. You make your way in the
universe doing what you want to make $ and may form corperations
with other members to produce ships, modules for those ships and other
things to sell or use to make money and form your own lil space
empire. Not a game for those with no patience :)
