Sounds like you name your pets the way me and my hubby name ours. One example was a fish we used to have -- a Siamese fighting fish called a betta -- well, hubby liked to gamble every once and a while and come January 1st when all the College football bowl games were played, he would bet what they call a 'parlay', which means a bet made up of two or more selections, for those of you who don't know. Can anyone figure out what's coming next? Well.....our fish was named 'Bettaparlay', as in 'bet a parlay', but soooo many people didn't get our inside joke, so after that, we tried to KISS instead and kept it simple.
Moral of my little story? Don't gamble! The names you come up with for your poor pet to endure will mean nothing to most -- they just won't 'get it' -- so in KISS fashion, we now go with the simplest of names, like our new lab, Buddy. If you don't 'get' a name like that, there's nothing I can do for you! LOL
Our neighbors have a dog and a cat with unusual names, but I don't know how they spell them. Depending on the owner, I've heard of several variations, so I'll spell them out phonetically, OK?
The dog's name sounded like this:
and the cat's like this:
Now, if you know your phonics, you should have nooo problem with those two pet names, right? I'm glad to see that there are other people out there with a sense of humor when it comes to this kind of thing. It's fun, isn't it? LOL LOL
