Viewing 1 - 4 out of 4 Blogs.
Ok, so I have some friends, whom I have known for a few years now. I trust them both implicitly, and this coming opportunity is no exception!
One of these friends has been making money on the internet for years, and he has done pretty well for himself. He keeps pretty low key, so I won't tell you who he is or how many internet businesses he owns, but believe me when I say, he's impressive. One of his companies, (ie., HE) will be spearheading the marketing for a brand new company, coming March 1st. He is currently working on the websites, which will be available to look at by March 1st, but we will be calling it O4.
I have a few questions, and if you answer yes to any of these questions, I HIGHLY recommend that you bookmark this blog and keep a very close eye on it!
--Have you been known to buy energy drinks?
--Do you know anyone else who buys energy drinks?
--Have you ever thought "Wow, that energy drink is expensive"
--Have you ever thought "I am soooo tired, and I really need a boost, but I can't stand the taste of the energy drinks, so I'll just buy a Coke?
--Would you be impressed if your friend was drinking an iced tea, bottle regular water, coke, glass of apple juice, (any liquid you can think of, consumable) and afterwards, had the energy and stamina of drinking an energy drink, without the sugar, caffeine, TASTE, or eventual "drop" after drinking one of those?
--What if I told you that this new product was FDA approved, and has 6 patents?
--What if I told you that you can get this product ANY WHERE in the world, that you can ship to?
--What if I told you, that if you want to build a business with this product, you can work from ANY WHERE in the world, and you will be paid in your currency?
--What if I told you it was completely natural?
--Do you like to make money?
--Have you ever thought "Man, I wish I would have gotten in on that company during launch...I'd me making so much money right now!"
--Do you like working with real, genuine people, that will actually help you to succeed, and not leave you on your own to figure it out?
If any of this sounds interesting, I'll be happy to give you more information (I am slightly limited in the info I can give out right this second, but I will tell you what I can!) so send me a message! If you don't want info now, and want to see where this goes, then come back later, and as I get more info that I can pass on, I'll add it here. Have a great day everyone!!
(Yes, this is a real opportunity, and I actually know, personally, the guy that will be responsible for this opportunity. I did not copy this blog from someone else, and I did not see it somewhere else. )

Environmental Awareness
Is your home a toxic home?
Did you know?
- Most homes today are filled with dangerous, toxic chemicals.
- Chemicals found in cleaning products, as well as personal care products such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, cosmetics, lotions, etc. are linked to cancer and other diseases.
- Children are even more vulnerable to toxic chemicals than adults are.
- According to the American Cancer Society, the number one cause of death through disease in children is cancer. Environmental causes are linked to the high prevalence of cancer in children, as well as in adults. Others at high risk include the elderly, pregnant women, and those with chronic illness.
- An EPA report found that asthma rates have more than doubled in the last two decades, rising from 3.6% in 1980 to 8.7% or 6.3 million children by 2001. Indoor air quality is being researched as the link to this rise in asthma.
CREATE A SAFE AND HEALTHY HOME: KNOW YOUR A, B, C's By Dr. Joyce M. Woods
- Begin by thinking of your home as a toxic waste dump. The average home today contains 62 toxic chemicals - more than a chemistry lab at the turn of the century.
- More than 72,000 synthetic chemicals have been produced since WW II.
- Less than 2% of synthetic chemicals in wide spread use have ever been tested for toxicity, birth defects or their mutagenic or carcinogenic effects.
- The majority of chemicals have NEVER been tested for long-term effects.
- An EPA survey concluded that indoor air was 3 to 70 times more polluted than outdoor air.
- Another EPA study stated that the toxic chemicals in household cleaners are 3 times more likely to cause cancer than outdoor air.
- CMHC reported that houses today are so energy efficient that "out gassing" of chemicals has nowhere to go, so it builds up inside the home.
- We spend 90% of our time indoors and 65% of our time at home. Moms, infants and the elderly spend 90% of their time in the home.
- National Cancer Association released results of a 15-year study concluding that women who work in the home are at a 54% higher risk of developing cancer than women who work outside the home.
- Cancer rates have almost doubled since 1960.
- Cancer is the number one cause of death for children.
- There has been a 26% increase in breast cancer since 1982. Breast cancer is the number one killer of women between the ages of 35 and 54. Primary suspects are laundry detergents and bleach, household cleaners, and pesticides.
- There has been a call from the U.S./ Canadian Commission to ban bleach in North America. Bleach is being linked to the rising rates of breast cancer in women, reproductive problems in men, and learning and behavioral problems in children.
- Chemicals get into our body through inhalation, ingestion and absorption.
- We breathe 10 to 20 thousand liters of air per day.
- There are more than 3 million poisonings every year. Household cleaners are the number one cause of poisoning of children.
- Since 1980, asthma has increased by 600%. The Canadian Lung Association and the Asthma Society of Canada identify common household cleaners and cosmetics as triggers. (This figure is higher than the figure cited for the increase in childhood asthma in the U.S. by the EPA. Even so, both cite a huge increase in the prevalence of asthma.)
- ADD/ADHD is an epidemic in schools today. Behavioral problems have long been linked to exposure to toxic chemicals and molds.
- Chemical and environmental sensitivities are known to cause all types of headaches.
- Labeling laws do not protect the consumer - they protect big business.
- The New York Poison Control Center reports that 85% of product warning labels are either inadequate or incorrect for identifying a poison and for first aid instructions.
- Formaldehyde, phenol, benzene, toluene and xylene are all found in common household cleaners, cosmetics, beverages, fabrics and cigarette smoke. These chemicals are known to be cancer causing and toxic to the immune and nervous systems.
- Chemicals are attracted to, and stored in fatty tissue. The brain is a prime target for these destructive organics because of its high fat content and very rich blood supply.
- The National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health has found more than 2500 chemicals in cosmetics that are toxic, cause tumors, reproductive complications, biological mutations and skin and eye irritations.
- Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, lupus, multiple sclerosis, circulatory disorders, Alzheimer's, Parkinson's disease, irritable bowel syndrome, depression, and hormonal problems are diseases commonly related to chemical exposure.
- Pesticides only have to include active ingredients on the labels, even though the inert (inactive) ingredients may account for 99%, many of which are toxic and poisons.
"Each year, over 1 million children are accidentally poisoned in their homes. More than 250,000 of these victims are hospitalized. Three thousand children will end up in intensive care. Dozens more will die. Thousands of children and adults are permanently disfigured or injured through contact with chemicals in the home each year. Incredibly, the most common substance to poison children is a household cleaner. Many of these products are considered safe! Think of your own home. You probably have dozens of bottles of cleaners, containing hundreds of chemicals. Could an accident happen in your home? "

The labels on products only have to warn of the acute (immediate) harms from ingesting a product, breathing the fumes, or contact with the eyes and skin. They don't reveal the harms presented by chronic (long-term) exposure to the chemicals in these products.
As you have seen, many household cleaners are very dangerous. They are just as dangerous when they are used properly and even when they are not being used at all. Most products "outgas" chemical vapors that may produce profound chronic harms. One study found women who worded at home had a 54% higher cancer rate than those who worked outside the home. Infertility is on the rise. Cancer in children has risen 20% over the past two decades. It is the number one killer of children by disease. The asthma rate has trippled in children over the past twenty years. Asthma deaths in children have increased 118% since 1980. ADD and learning disorders have skyrocketed over the last twenty years. All of these conditions have been linked to chemicals in the home. In fact, one study has linked 50% of all health problems to deteriorated indoor air quality. Take a look at the products you use and the possible dangersx you are being exposed to. Consider how many different chemicals are in your home's air and the potential danger of that "toxic cocktail".
The previous list of harmful effects were short-term effects. The following contains a short list of long-term side-effects of constant exposure to the previous mentioned products. This list is just a small portion...
Harms include: cancer, central nervous system damage, liver damage, tumors, reproductive disorders, kidney damage, chronic lung irritation, nausea, coma, central nervous system disorders, damage to heart, skin irritations, heart attacks, headaches, bone marrow damage, bronchitis, and in severe cases, death.

Cancer in smokers is the result of daily esposure to the trace amounts of carcinogens in cigarettes. In the same way, people who are exposed daily to low levels of carcinogens in their cleaning products face similar risks. Fortunately, switching brands is easy. There are companies that manufacture safer products for your home which are free from ammonia, phenol, chlorine, petroleum sitillates, synthetic solvents, and other dagerous ingredieants. Ask me how you can use safer alternatives for your home.
If any of this hits home for you, I can help. For any questions, send me a message and I'll be happy to get back to you.
Some of you may already know, but for those of you who don't, I am a Registered Nurse. It is not what I am, it is who I am. I have been a nurse for close to a decade now, and have wanted to be a nurse since I was a little girl. It was that, or a ballerina...so I was told by my mother.
I currently work in a tiny little rural hospital, which I actually enjoy very much. I was trained in San Diego, and worked in the busiest ER there, and got my Emergency Medicine traning in Seattle, so I have been around the block (worked over half dozen ER's during my career) a time or two when it comes to Emergency medicine.
I thought that working in a small ER would bring about the changes that I hated in the larger ones. Nope. It just magnifies them. I absolutely love what I do, 99% of the time. I am good at what I do, my patients love me, and I go home at the end of the night knowing that I truly make a difference in peoples' lives. But I have come to the conclusion that there are times that I absolutely hate doing what I do, and I find myself quite irritated multiple times throughout a shift. I thought since I had an undivided audience here, I would attempt to educate the general public about the do's and don'ts of coming the Emergency Room, either as a patient, or as a family member/visitor.
First, it is an EMERGENCY room, not a clinic. Ask yourself if this is something that can wait until you can get into see your family physician. If this is a condition that you have had for 6 months, and you have been working and having a full, productive life with this issue, then coming into the ER at 2 am in the morning, because you finally got around to calling your doctor today and he couldn't fit you in until next week, for your 6 month issue, and it is now 2 in the morning and you can't sleep, so you decide to come see us...this is probably not the place you need to be!!
Next, the ER is NOT operated on a first come, first served basis. Sometimes, you will have a long wait. Sometimes, you will have a very long wait. When you come in, you are typically seen by a TRAINED ER triage nurse, who then assigns you a triage score. You're score is based on how sick you are. If you are blue, not breathing, having a heart attack, or you literally have blood spurting from the stump where your arm used to be, then chances are you will be assigned a score of a 1. This means you are entitled to come in first. You can go directly to go, and collect your $200.
Now, if you have come in because you would like a prescription refill for the medication you ran out of 2 weeks ago, and your doctor, again, couldn't fit you in today for this issue you knew about for a while, then you will probably be issued a score of 5. That means you are not acutely ill, and you can wait to be seen by a physician. Now, if you see people coming in after you and being seen before you, that is a sign that you are probably a 4 or 5 on that scale, and these people are probably 2's and 3's, which mean they are sicker than you are!! Coming to my triage window and getting mean and nasty with me because you have been here for 3 hours waiting to be seen by a physician for your sore throat that started 2 hours before you came in will not get you seen any sooner!! Don't get me wrong, if you are polite about your inquest, we will be happy to try to give you an estimation of your wait time. Rudeness or coming up every 5 minutes will not help!
In the case around here, there are many rural ER's in which the people from the city have started to come to visit instead of waiting the 10-12 hours to see a physician in the city ER's for your cold symptoms. Much of the time, we are quite a bit slower than that, and can fit you in quicker, and on a good day, you can even be in and out in under an hour. Hallelujah! BUT, it won't always work that way. Just because you were LUCKY and got in and out quickly the last few times you were here, doesn't pre-dispose you to a right to the same the next visit. DO NOT come up to me and complain that you have been waiting for 45 minutes to see the physician when you can clearly see that the ER is operating on the equivalent level of a zoo today. We do get busy, we do get REAL sick people, and we do have people die on us in small town rural hospitals, so that might mean that you will have to wait a little while longer to see that doctor this time.
I also do not care how much money you have. Being rich, and living in a million dollar estate does not give you the right to be rude and expect to go directly to the front of the line. The poor guy having a heart attack will still have priority over your sliver. Sorry.
Now, I am the first to admit, there are lots of ding dongs in nursing and I have often wondered myself if some people have found their nursing licenses in a box of cracker jacks. This is an exception, however. To get a nursing license, there is lots of schooling involved, and for RN's, that is actual college, not trade school. We have classroom hours, and on the job training hours as well. We really do earn the right to make the decisions that we do. Most of us are here because we love what we do, and want to help. There are stressful things to deal with in any area of nursing. I've been there and done that. But, there are extra challenges that face ICU and ER nurses...up to and including death. We take care of people who are terrfied, and are probably at their worst in our ER's. We know that going in, and will take their snippy tones with a grain of salt. People who have been puking all day, or are here for a raging infection and have a fever of 105.0 have a bit more of a right to be short tempered. We are the wipping post for most of these patients, as well as get flack from stressed out physicians, and over worked lab techs, as well as genuinly sick people who have been waiting in the waiting room for 4 hours, because we just don't have any beds to put you in. We expect all of that...and so should you. This absolutely does not give us the right to be rude or condescending, but take this into consideration when you come in. It will probably not help the matters much if you make any remarks about us not smiling when we come to get you from the waiting room, when we are having an incredibly crappy shift, and you are here for a follow up visit for something that you were suppose to see your family doctor for, but ******** until the last minute, and couldn't get into see your family doctor because you called to get an appointment TODAY. We are here to help you, and the sick people who depend on us, some of them litterally for their lives, and we are not here to be your wipping posts, and we certainly are not here to explain to you why we are not smiling and laughing.
Under no circumstances are you to ever make a comment about "well, you get paid well" or "you make enough" or "that's why we pay you the big bucks" or any variation of that theme. YOU do not pay me, and no, I do not make enough for what I do, period.
Next, even though in stressful situations, physicians and nurses do get on each other's nerves, we are still a family. There is probably a good chance if you come in, acting like an idiot, being rude to us, and insisting on getting antibiotics and narcotic pain medication for your cough that started today, you just might end up with an enema. Do we do that? Come into my ER and act like a jerk, and find out. ER doctors and nurses stick together...it's called sanity.
Now that I am done with my rant, I feel better. I still have a huge list of do's and don'ts, but I'll update this blog as I see fit. I might even start sharing stories after bad, or conversely, good nights. I have had some wonderful experiences in my career, and despite the aforementioned rant, I really do love what I do. If you come to see me (which is any ER nurse, really) and you are polite and are there for something approprate for an ER visit, you will get what you deserve...great care. I know there are exceptions to this...I have also been on the other end of the stick, and see what you have had to deal with...so I KNOW...there are rude, mean, and stressed out healthcare workers out there. But most of us are not that way, I promise.
