Well, the new year is here, and so is a new journey in my life. I have had a serious weight problem for several years now. This weight issue includes the fact that I have no thyroid function, and have to take thyroid hormone replacement now. My metabolism is as slow as it can be. Enough with the excuses!
I am a member of a health club that is having a "Biggest Loser" club/contest. I decided that this year, I will not only join the club, I am going to win the contest. I decided to talk about it here, because it makes me more accountable to follow through & lose the weight. I need to do this to improve my overall health. I do have one thing besides my health club membership on my side as a real asset in this plan. One of the products my husband & I have access to through our incredible business is the Trim Advantage Weight Loss System.
Today is Tuesday. The first weigh in was Saturday, and from what I saw, I have the most weight loss needed. I hate to admit my weight, but in order to accurately record my success, I have to write in the number. I was a whopping 291 lbs! Only one way to go from here. DOWN!!!
I have started with the diet portion...
Nutrilite supplements:
HCA Plus (Hydroxycitric acid) helps curb the appetite. So far so good, it is helping control that urge to eat, eat, eat.
Glucose Health helps support healthy blood glucose (sugar), and can reduce the risk of type 2 diabetes. Well, too late for that, I got that several years ago, and this should help keep that under control. This has chromium picolinate, a blend of garcina, gymemna sylvestre, and vanadium to help the body metabolize carbs, fats & proteins more efficiently. As I said earlier, with the thyroid disorder, my metabolism needs all the help it can get!
CLA 500 (Conjugated Linoleic Acid) is an essential fatty acid that supports lean muscle retention. When dieting, I have heard that the body tends to burn off muscle faster than fat. This is meant to help protect that muscle, and build those muscles in the exercise part of a weight loss plan. I saw the loss of muscle tone my mom had when she dieted, I truly believe that this will help me stay stronger.
Carb Blocker is supposed to help block up to 500 carbohydrate calories. It helps control calorie absorbtion from cereal, bread, pasta, and other "comfort" foods. It's worth a try!
I'm also making protein shakes for breakfast & lunch using the Trim Advantage Sugar Free Drink Mix, Nutrilite Protein Powder, frozen fruit, & skim milk. They taste much better than I thought they would, especially since I choose the fruits I mix them with! I am starting the exercises tomorrow morning at Four Seasons Health Club. I have been given a workout regime to start with, and I'm excited to get moving!
I will keep you all up to date on my progress. The biggest thing is my commitment to make it work for me! I will be the biggest loser in my area, no doubt in my mind!

I have been working on the exercise part of this challenge. I am starting to feel a little sore, but it's a good sore, if you know what I mean. I have developed a workout routine that targets all areas of my body. So far my legs are pretty strong. My arms are where I'm really feeling the burn. I know it won't be easy, but I'm not about to give up!

As an individual, have you ever had to pick out a gift for someone you don't know very well? Have you ever wanted to give something nice as a wedding gift, but want to avoid duplicating what others have given them? Have you ever wanted to give a gift that offers choices, but want to avoid the run of the mill gift card from WalMart or other similar stores?
As a business owner, have you ever needed an incentive program, something to bring in customers for high ticket items, or to reward them for making a large purchase? Have you ever wanted a gift for those employees who do that extra little something that makes a big difference in your business?
Here is an answer to those needs. The ribbon gift catalog program is an incredible way to give a gift that stands out from the rest. The catalogs are available to suit a variety of price ranges, starting at $25 and going all the way up to $750. There are general product catalogs, that give the recipient a nice variety of gift choices. There are also specialty catalogs, for weddings, baby showers, chocolate lovers, and even a special catalog called "Sweet" that especially appeal to the teenager in your life.
When you purchase the catalog, the gift and shipping and handling are all covered! You give the gift album to the recipient. They take the catalog, look at all the choices, and decide on what they really want or need. They can go to the website and enter the redemption code from the gift card enclosed with the album, and usually within a week the gift arrives at their door.

I don't like the taste of many energy drinks, but I like what they do for me. Speaking only for myself, when I get a migraine headache, the best thing in the world I can do to help me get over it without having to take a prescription drug, is to take a couple of non-aspirin with an energy drink. The combination of the caffeine and the B vitamins helps me get rid of migraines. I used to chug down whichever diet energy drink I could find, since I have to worry about too much sugar, and then cringe from the taste for a coluple of minutes.
When I tried XS energy drinks for the first time I was shocked that it was an energy drink. It actually tasted good! It comes in several different flavors, and I like all of the ones I've tried. The only flavors I haven't tried are the teas. My personal favorites are Cranberry-Grape Blast, Cherry Cola Blast, and Tropical Blast. Some of the other flavors are Citrus Blast, Electric Lemon Blast (which gives me the biggest energy boost), Root Beer Blast, Cherry Blast, Green Tea Blast, Peach Tea Blast, and Cola Blast.
The next shock came when I looked at the label. Most of these drinks have 0 carbs, 0 sugar, and only 8 calories. There are a couple of the flavors that have 16 calories, and 3 carbs. In comparing the B vitamin content with other energy drinks on the market, XS comes up way ahead of the game. XS boasts vitamin B3 100% daily value, B5 100% daily value, B6 300% daily value, and B12 4900% daily value! There are even a couple of flavors available without the caffeine!
I enjoy XS as a regular part of my diet right now, because it is so healthy, and because it keeps those pesky headaches away.
XS is not available at the store. It is only available through distributors, like this site ksours.qhealthbeauty.com The best thing about it, and anything else available there, is their 100% satisfaction guarantee or you get a full refund...up to 3 months later! Check it out
I have four wonderful children.
My oldest, Elizabeth, is 24 and a mom of 4 children. She was an only child for the first 13 years of her life. Most of that time, I was a single mom, so in a lot of ways she was shortchanged. She was & is a fun person to be around. She is vibrant, exciting, and you always know where you stand with her. She isn't afraid to speak her mind. I am very proud of the woman she has become.
My next child, Ned, is 10 years old, and has a heart of gold. He tries to help other people all the time and he really lives by the scout law that he has learned. He is the most patriotic child I have ever met. This young man loves decorating with flags and bald eagles. He is very proud to be American. A few months ago, he made a Christmas stocking to send to a soldier. This was done at an activity at the Aviation Museum. He wants to save the reply he got from a Marine Corp. Staff Sergeant. He is so happy to have made someone else happy. He has recently taken up the oboe, and plays very well!
Third was Grace! She is 9 years old and is quite a social butterfly. She was born when her brother was 13 months old. She has personality and then some. Grace is my most tender hearted child. She is a Girl Scout, and loves scouting activities. If you put Gracie in a room with other girls near her age, within an hour she will have befriended most of them. Grace is someone who wants to be involved in as many activities as she can be, and she is a fierce and loyal friend.
My youngest child, Rose, is waiting for us in heaven. She was born with a rare chromosomal disorder called Trisomy 13, or Patau Syndrome. It's similar to Downs Syndrome, but much more severe. She only lived an hour and twenty-one minutes, but that short life, and the time I was pregnant with her after the diagnosis gave her the chance to touch very many lives in a positive way. I am grateful to have had her, and look forward to holding her in my arms someday after I die.
There is an interesting coincidence in the births of my 4 children. Elizabeth was 13 years old when Ned was born. Ned was 13 months old when Grace was born on Friday the 13th. Grace was 13 months old when we learned that I was pregnant with Rose. Rose died because she had an extra 13th chromosome. I guess that makes 13 MY number for good or ill!
