I Find This Slightly Demeaning
Posted On: 12/12/2007 14:46:36

I don't know whether to be offended, or not.  I overlooked it for awhile, but everytime I see it, it just doesn't sit right.  Maybe you can help me.

A drop down menu to answer a 'yes or no' question is one thing, but what about when there is a drop down menu without any answers available, which answer that question for you?  A list of choices that do no apply to you.  I mean, do I have to say I am a little fluffy?

What about the Zubby Theme choices?  Do you think you could have chosen a theme better than the choices on the list??

The one that bothers me the most, is the Religion choices.  I don't know whether to be offended or not.  It confused me at first, but the more I see it on other's pages, the more it bothers me.

What in the heck does Christian-Other mean??  Other is already listed in the drop down, why is it added after Christian?  There are no other religions with 'other' beside it.  Even an atheist should be offended if -Other appeared after their choice.

I am a Christian.  I don't know what -Other may refer to.

To a Christian, there is no OTHER, that is why they are called Christians.

What do you think?  No matter what your religion, how would you like -Other appearing after your choice?  It feels a little demeaning to me.

Well, that's all I have to say about that, but I would like your opinion.  Is it strange, or is it just me?
