HERE IS THE POLICE REPORT-Police investigating disturbing case of animal cruelty in Rossiter Written by Staff reports ROSSITER • Punxsutawney-based Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a disturbing incident of animal cruelty that occurred along Canoe Ridge Road, Rossiter, shortly after midnight Thursday. According to police, there were strange noises coming from the outside of the victims’ residence. Police investigated and found two domestic pygmy goats and a pet rabbit just off the porch at the rear of the residence. Both goats had their throats cut, and one goat had been thrown onto the hood of the victim’s truck. The rabbit had been thrown onto the dash on the interior of the truck. The victim then discovered that the front passenger side tire of his 2000 Dodge Truck was flat and had been sliced with a sharp object. When the victim began checking on other animals on the property, it was discovered that two horses had also been victims of this hideous act. One Quarter horse had a severe laceration on its neck, and another Palomino horse also had a laceration. A local veterinarian assisted at the scene.
