How I came to know Jesus
Many many years ago I was a very foolish young person. All I lived for was partying. I went to rock concerts and parties searching for the perfect
buzz. All I cared about was getting high. It wasn't my parents fault. I came from a good devout Catholic home. They made me go to mass everySunday. They made me be an alter boy but these were not my choices. That wasn't cool enough for me. All I wanted was rock and roll. After a series of bad priest at our church, I became bitter and rebellious against their religion. One priest tried to molest me another slapped
me across the room for trying to get a buzz of the sacrificial wine. No I decided I didn't want any part of their God. I hit many rock bottoms after that. I lived on the streets. I was in and out of jail. I was
shooting anything into my veins to escape my miserable life. I dropped out of high school. Then I managed to get a job at a local junior college. I made good friends with a partying student. I knew the friendship was over when he told me " I got saved." I decided he will
never be any fun again. He kept bugging me, wanting me to come to a
revival with him. I kept telling him I didn't want any part of that mess. "been there done that", I said. He kept persisting. Finally I decided the only way to get this fool off my back was to humor him. I made plan. I would go with him to the stupid revival on a Wednesday. Because the church was on the way to one of my favorite bars that always had quarter draft night on Wednesday I decided I would go to
revival and get drunk afterwards. I never made it to that bar that night. Something indescribably wonderful happened that changed me forever. I gave my heart to Jesus and experienced the highest high I
ever had. The days following I was at that church whenever the doors were open. I couldn't quit reading my Bible. I was on fire for God. The Holy Spirit lead me to go back to School so I could be in a position to
help people struggling with drugs like I once was. Now I'm a substance abuse counselor and the story has just begun. Praise God for His great mercy and love.
