According to analyst Richard Greenfield, MySpace generates "in excess of $30 million" a month in revenue, with about $24 million in domestic revenue and $6 million internationally.
Even more impressive, Greenfield estimates that this will double in the next twelve months to $60 million per month.
It certainly pays off to be the number one social networking site in the US. Maybe Google CEO Eric Schmidt was right when he (allegedly) told Murdoch that the MySpace acquisition will prove to be the best deal of his life.
I just started my site and am doing it for fun... I have some Google ads on there but that's about it! I just started today and then I read this... I can't believe the money they are estimating... God, just 1% of that and all I'de have to do is sit home and run the site having fun with all my members! Throwing some kick A** parties with all of you!!!...
Unfortunately my luck has never been that good so I'll stick to my little site, who knows maybe one day right!
If I ever made that kind of money, I would definately give some of it to the members who first helped me get the site going.. Maybe MySpace should look into doing something like that. take say the first 5,000 people who really got them to where they are and give them some of the Pie...
You can bet if Zubby ever made it that's exactly what I would do no question in my mind!
So for ???s and giggles I am going to try my hardest to get 5,000 members and if I do get that many, I am going to put that list aside and keep them in a database and keep close contact with them.. This would actually be a great idea the more I think about it because out of 5,000 people all of the ideas they would have Zubby could really be a kick A** site and built with all the feedback from those first 5k members..
Anyway, I guess I'm dreaming now but wish me luck and see you when you join!
